I’ve got a ‘93 Fender Strat that I’ve decided to do an overhaul on. I’m basically going to gut it and replace/upgrade parts a bit at time. One of those items slated to be replaced is the original white 3-ply pickguard. It’s dirty and scratched so I’m going to order a new one from !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , but I can’t decide on color. I don’t think I want to go with plain white so I’m looking at these colors.

What do you think, Oppo? Picture of my Strat below for reference. Pickup covers and knobs will be replaced as well to go with the pickguard.

I’ve always liked the white or aged white pearloid.

Well, red/black is always a good combo (complimenting your deftones sticker), but tan/red/black also works. Were it mine I might put on a black pickguard, but I’m not 100% certain.

Gonna be a weirdo here and say go with the gold flake one. Super retro vibe.

Your picture really threw me for a second there. Then I realized you play lefty.

Normally I’d say the black or red one, but I think the goldish/offwhite one would look sweet

Your guitars are backwards.

I really, really dislike tortoise shell/pearloid pickguards. I honestly like the white best, but of the ones you listed, I’d go with black.

I need to rebuild my Strat too, there’s some faulty wiring I need to replace, just haven’t gotten around to it.

I kind of think the Anaconda (on Warmoths website) would look nice with your headstock. Would bring the whole thing together. Just my opinion though.

Backwards and more expensive!

Someday I’ll strip all of the stickers off and give it a new coat of paint. This was my first guitar 20 years ago and I treated it like teenagers treat things.

You’re a lefty! I really dig the black with red edges, but if you really want a shell texture, make it the white one. That a real Les Paul?

The first step is not having a simple white on black strat like every single other person in the world ever. In service of that, I’d have allowed a sticker or two. There’s a classic color scheme, and then there’s being just another penguin in the migration. Guitars are supposed to be about extroversion at least a little bit.

Yes and no. It’s an Epi, so it’s not a Gibson, but it’s still technically a Les Paul.

Yeah, I definitely enjoyed making it my own. In my old(er) age, though, I’ve started wanting to keep things nice and clean. Maybe this one is an exception, though. I’ve thought about just buying a new Strat, but there’s the special sentimental appeal of this one being my first.

Nice. Beautiful either way, I’ve always wanted a sunburst Les Paul.

I love it. I could spend a couple grand on a Gibson, but for $600 this one sounds and plays wonderfully.

I feel you. My SG has kind of a dieselpunky thing going on with a homemade tailpiece, silver and red paint on black, and black nickel pickups, but my bass? Classic Vibe 50s P in Lake Placid Blue, with ashtrays. Guess which I bought about six-eight years after the other...

I’ve got a white with tortoise shell HSS strat. I like that combo but only with the arctic white body. The pearl white might look good with black.

Yep, I think my attitude shifted when I shelled out my own money for the Les Paul and the Schecter.

Either the black/red/black or the pearl white. And paint your headstock to match. Painted headstocks are sexy.

For some reason, I saw the gold pickguard and thought “Chrysler Imperial”.

Either the Red or the Cream would be my two picks.
